Car Reviews 2026 Nissan Xterra

The 2010 Nissan Xterra is sort of the same type of vehicle as the Toyota FJ Cruiser but Nissan is still making the Xterra. I believe that Toyota has discontinued the FJ Cruiser which is too bad. The Nissan Xterra is a nice on the road vehicle but it is very capable off-road too. For 2010 the Nissan Xterra comes in four trim levels. The X model comes in 4×2 or 4×4 as does the S model. The Off-Road 4X4 comes only as a 4X4 and the top of the line SE comes either 4X2 or 4X4. All of the Xterra models use the same 4.0 liter SOHC 24 valve V-6 engine that develops 261 horsepower at 5600 RPM. It has a Continuously Variable Valve timing System on the intake valves, a Variable Intake system, Nissan Direct Ignition sixth Platinum tipped spark plugs, Electronic drive-by-wire throttle and a skid plate for the lower radiator. The Off-Road 4X4 also has skid plates for the oil pan, fuel tank and transfer case. These come in real handy when you are doing serious off-roading. The X and the Off-Road 4X4 come standard with a six speed manual transmission. A five speed automatic is standard on the S and SE and optional on the X and Off-Road 4X4. A Dana rear axle is standard on the manual transmission models. A switch operated 2 speed transfer case is standard on the Off-Road 4X4 and optional on the other three when equipped with 4X4. All the Xterra models come standard with 16″ tires and wheels except the SE which comes with 17″ tires and wheels. They all have a full sized spare which is nice. They all have 4 wheel disc brakes with 4 wheel ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution. The X and the S comes with an AM/FM CD audio system with 6 speakers. On the Off-Road 4X4 and the SE standard is the Rockford Fosgate powered audio system with an AM/FM in-dah 6 CD changer, 9 high performance speakers including an 8″ subwoofer. The controls are steering wheel mounted. They have an auxiliary audio input jack, MP3WMA CD playback capability, speed sensitive volume control, Radio Data System, and XM satellite radio with the automatic transmission models. They have A Blue-tooth Hands-Free Phone system All of the Xterras come with air conditioning, remote keyless entry, auto dimming rear view mirror with digital compass, power windows and door locks and intermittent wipers. The X, S, and Off-Road 4X4 have cloth interiors and the SE has leather. the S, Off-Road 4X4 and the SE have 8 way manual seats. They all have the latest airbags in all the right places and they all have Vehicle dynamic Control The Xterras all get between 15 and 21 MPG. There are six exterior colors and for the interior. Cloth on the Off Road 4X4 has red checks in it and the SE has gray leather. The base X starts at $22,450 and a loaded SE 4X4 will run $30.955. The 2010 Nissan Xterra is a nice driving and handling small SUV that has [plenty or power and seems to quite popular. There sure are a lot of them on the roads.
